I just got back from a double vacation. After my week at my grandparents’ house (still not giving the location away) I went to King’s Island from Sunday-Wednesday! I spent 2 days at King’s Island and shall give a short review of each ride that I rode. (as requested by my uncle) I didn’t ride every ride, so don’t expect my oppinion on all of those. This is because I’m either too tall, not wanting to ride it, or both. Here’s what I thought of the rides:
Action Theater: Spongebob Squarepants in 3D- Rating: 9 Times ridden: 1 Review: Well, this was one of the strangest simulations I’ve ever riden. The main plot was Spongebob lost a pickle and has to search Bikini Bottom to find it! It does sound ridiculous but it’s still pretty interesting since it’s in 3D. Some of the 3D parts are amazing (Plankton’s weapons, pirate painting, flying pickle, ect.) I did enjoy it, but it’s just a little bit too much motion.
Boo Blasters on Boo Hill- Rating: 7.6 Times ridden: 1 Review: Much better than the Scooby-Doo ride. The lighting in the main room was better, the targets were easier to hit, and in the beginning, the graphic effects were there! The ride makes more sense and the theme is better presented. At the end, there’s a score chart too show how well you did (exactly like the Buzz Lightyear ride in Disney World.) Basically, if you got good aim and you like ghost hunting then this ride is for you.
Diamondback- Rating: 9.8 Times ridden: 3 Review: At night the ride is so much better because you can see the Peanuts light show that starts every night. It’s definitely the smoothest ride I’ve ever riden. I rode it on the second day I was there though (after my uncle begged me to go about a thousand times) The only bad part about it is the fact that you can feel the G Force on your face (since your going 80 mph.) At least there are no loops! One warning though: In the event that you keep your hands up throughout the entire ride, make sure you keep in mind that your arms will hurt badly! Anyway, I still believe this ride is the best ride in the park. Although, I think the ride could be a bit longer.
Flight Deck- Rating: 7.5 Times ridden: 1 Review: First let me say that it’s too short. Although, there are some interesting twists and turns after the first long drop. There are a few sudden turns and stuff like that. I prefer the front half of the car, but you may get a headache after the first time you ride it. The remote location helps make all of these speed binding turns and speed-filled drops possible! But be warned, it’s a long walk just to get to the ride even if the line is short.
Flight of Fear: Rating: 4.8 Times ridden: 1 Review: I hated this ride because of how many times it went upside down so many times! Imagine spending most of a ride upside down and you’ve got a good idea of what it was like. It was darker than Space Mountain, about as fast as the Rock n’ Roller Coaster, and was upside down more than the Firehawk! Although, the theme and theme video were actually amazing! The whole theme is about a UFO discovered in Area 51. They discover an “anomaly” on the ship and when they check it out, an electricity surge goes through the system. Then aliens take over and stuff. So, in the end, you go into the UFO and become copied by the aliens as a plan to control the world.
Racer- Rating: 8.9 Times ridden: 4 Review: Normally, I would’ve ridden this ride more times, but I didn’t have the time. This ride is a classic, literally, this ride has some jagged bumps all around, yet the blue racer has been fixed so that it doesn’t hurt as much. Although, the red racer hurts allot more than the blue. (Why?) At least it’s still an enjoyable ride because of the multiple drops! The best part about the ride is there are little to no lines for the seats (except for the front) almost all the time.
Surf Dog- Rating: 8 Times ridden: 3 Review: A ride that’s worth multiple rides since the thrill is there every time. The spinning motion does get faster over a short amount of time only to get you higher up on the track to the point where your inches away from the end of the rails! Of course, I don’t recommend this for young children, but I do think this ride is worth riding if you have time to ride anything. And trust me on this fact, there mainly no wayyou can get sick. (unless you have an extremely weak stomach then…) If you have ridden the Avatar ride then it’s the same thing except the design is different.
The Beast- Rating: 9.5 Times ridden: 4 Review: I rode this ride 4 times because I love this ride and put my hands up the whole time! It does hurt sometimes, but it’s hilarious when I sit with my uncle (the same uncle who wanted me to write this post.) Sometimes he screams like a little girl (fake screams of course) and on the picture he’d give the camera the signal. Although, the camera would blur his hand, so it wasn’t as funny. The first drop is a short 100 feet and the second drop is bigger!!! But it curves so you can’t actually tell it’s bigger. And the ride time is 4 minutes and 50 seconds long!!!! My uncle said that “4 minutes and 50 seconds is like an eternity on a roller coaster.” Trust me, it does feel like an eternity.
The Crypt- Rating: 8.5 Times ridden: 2 Review: This ride isn’t what you might excpectit to be since it’s inside. Although, if you look at the seats in the front, then you can tell something weird is going to happen. This ride isn’t a “simulation”, but the background props and setup make the ride look and feel awesome. When you get onto the ride, the first thing you see when you sit down is a zippable bag in front of you. They will tell you to secure loose items like shoes, glasses, and other stuff, yet they take your bags and hide them! Don’t worry, you go to a door outside of the exit and tell a worker what you’re back looks like. Anyway, the ride will go upside down twice. Don’t be alarmed, it’s totally fun because the upside down thing is awesome every time you ride it!
Looking forward to the Cedar Point field trip in May!!!!!
